Experience unmatched data transfer speeds, scalability, and reliability with our PCIe Gen5 compatibility, proven by NVMe-IP Gen5 on the VHK158 FPGA board. Ideal for high-performance applications, this solution is your gateway to next-level innovation.
The AB19 adapter board
The AB19 adapter board is an ideal solution for evaluating NVMe series IP-Core operations and developing prototype platforms.
The AB19’s PCIe Gen5 performance is proven by our NVMe-IP Gen5 using the VHK158 FPGA board.
Additionally, the AB19 is compatible with other NVMe-IP options, including NVMe-IP Gen4 with the VCK190 FPGA board and NVMe-IP Gen3 with the ZCU106 FPGA board.
We also offer NVMe-IP solutions for Altera FPGA boards. For example, we provide NVMe-IP Gen5 using the Agilex 7 I-series.
NVMe-IP Gen5 Demo
Next, let’s us show you the demonstration of NVMe-IP Gen5 on VHK158 FPGA board. To set up the hardware for the NVMe-IP Gen5 demo, you’ll need the following components:
- VHK158 FPGA board.
- AB19 adapter board.
- Gen 5 NVMe SSD.

Gen 5 vs Gen 4
After successfully programming bit file, you will see the welcome screen. Let’s compare the performance of NVMe-IP Gen5 with different SSD generations using our demo.
On the right console, we run the demo with a Gen5 SSD. On the left, it’s running with a Gen4 SSD.
Next, we are going to send write command to both demo, and observe the transfer performance. As you see for the Gen5 SSD the performance is about 9884 MB/s and for Gen4 SSD is 6971 MB/s. You can observe characteristics of each SSDs by this setup.
